Outreach

We greatly value the support of other ministries who serve the mission of Christ, both in our community and around the world.

SouthHills commits to the financial support of these ministries by collecting a once-a-month missions offering on the first Sunday of each month. We invite you to join us in giving, praying for and following the work of these ministries (listed below). Tax-deductible donations can be sent to:

Local Outreach: David and Susan Robertson

SouthHills supports local outreach to the homeless through David & Susan's non-profit organization: Free People, Inc.--a network of the faith community that has served the homeless of Lane County since 1993, by meeting practical needs, showing compassion and alleviating suffering. Beyond playing music and giving out free food, clothing and other necessities at events and weekly Christian fellowship times, their hope is to free people from the cycle of despair. David & Susan work to achieve this by providing referrals to local services and networking with other agencies. Several times each year, SouthHills participates by sponsoring an outreach of goodwill to support their ongoing work in the area. To learn more about the Robertson's ministry, visit www.freepeopleeugene.com or contact them directly at david@freepeopleeugene.com or (541) 461-1278.

Local Outreach:  One Hope Network - Eugene/Springfield

SouthHills also supports local outreach to our community through the ministry of One Hope. One Hope is a ministry that networks Eugene/Springfield ministry leaders and churches for practical service projects and events that unifiy the body of Christ and express His love to our community. Find out more about One Hope by visiting them online at www.onehopenetwork.org or by contacting them directly at 541-968-1132 or onehopenetwork@gmail.com.

Extended Outreach: Lee & Lisa Schabel

SouthHills supports Lee and Lisa in their present assignment as Foursquare Missionaries in Santiago, Chile. Their main focus is on training pastors from more than 120 churches in this key South American nation. They desire to see more leaders impacting nations through Spirit-led ministry founded on solid biblical principles. With a keen awareness of cross-cultural communication, they have served in multiple capacities as missionaries and pastors within the Foursquare Church for more than 25 years. The Schnabels have three grown sons: Kurt, Stefan and Hans, who share a similar passion for church planting and kingdom ministry. To learn more about the Schnabels and their work in Chile, visit their Web Journal or send an email to lschnabel@foursquare.org.

Global Outreach:  Foursquare Nigeria

SouthHills also supports the outreach efforts of our Foursquare family in Nigeria. Our focus is to raise money to build wells that allow fresh water to be distributed at no cost to the indigenous population, while at the same time bringing a message of hope in Christ. The cost of each well is approximately $9,000. In 2011, our congregation raised over $5,500 toward this effort. We are participating with two other Foursquare churches in Oregon. The following video provides further details about the water well project.  Click here for more information...
