Children's Ministry

Our children's program aims to create a safe and loving environment where kids are encouraged to discover who God is and how much He loves us. On Sunday mornings children will experience enthusiastic leaders, creative storytelling that focuses on biblical truths, purposeful activities that reinforce what is being taught and lively worship--all presented in a way that kids can understand! Because we desire to partner with familiesto bring church and home life together, we do our best to provide resources that will enable parents to incorporate and expound upon Sunday teachings throughout the course of the week.

NURSERY – (Ages 0-2)
The nursery is a safe place where your little one will be well cared for. Our volunteers are ready to hold, read to, play with and meet the overall needs of your baby.

FIRST LOOK – (Ages 2-5)

At this age, it is our goal that kids will understand three basics truths about God:

  1. God made me
  2. God loves me
  3. Jesus wants to be my friend forever

Each month we will introduce a new theme which includes a key question, bottom line, memory verse, and Bible story. Children learn through repetition, so we repeat the theme for a month--incorporating different activities each week.

January Focus

Basic Truth:
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Key Question:
Who can do anything?

Bottom Line:
Jesus can do anything.

Memory Verse:
"With God, all things are possible" - Matthew 19:26.

Bible Story:
John 2:1-11, Luke 5:1-11

Parent/Leader Resources:

Monthly Handout - Parents can pick up a monthly "Small Talk Sheet" that has the Bible story, memory verse, and key questions to ask your child throughout the week.  These are available on Sunday mornings at the Check-In table for each class.

252 BASICS - (Ages 6-8 & 9-13)

As kids grow and mature, we help them to understand what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. To accomplish this, we emphasize three basic truths:

  1. I need to make the wise choice
  2. I can trust God no matter what
  3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated

In this group, a new virtue is introduced each month. Kids learn how to apply the virtue in their daily lives with help from Bible stories, activities and a small group atmosphere

January Focus

Virtue:
SELF-CONTROL

Memory Verse:
"My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen. But they should be slow to speak. They should be slow to get angry" - James 1:19.

Bible Story:

Proverbs 25:28; Proverbs 16:32

Bottom Line:

God God can give you the power to control yourself.
